Impasse (Portraits (Minneapolis, Minn.).)
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (October, 1997)
Author: Laurel Oke Logan
Average review score:

Impasse
I really liked this book because it took a possible real life situation of having to stand up for what's right instead of giving in to pressure from other people who are doing wrong. I loved the way Jon stood firm and didn't give in and even though he lost the case and his job, he still did the right thing. I also loved the way Esther, who wanted to to the right thing as well, and John ended up together at the end. GREAT BOOK.

In the Midst of Wolves
Published in Paperback by Crossway Books (June, 1990)
Authors: Barry McGuire and Logan White
Average review score:

Yes this is the 60s singer Barry Mcguire...
Who can ever live without a book by 60's protest singer Barry Mcguire? Well, I couldn't since I own this book. It is a novel written about a group of bikers who come to know God. It was written in the early 90's. The only reason I reviewed this book, is because when I first heard of it I wondered, "Is this the same Barry Mcguire that recorded 'Eve of Destruction?'" So now you know, it is!

An Introduction to Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations
Published in Hardcover by Wiley-Interscience (23 March, 1994)
Author: J. David Logan
Average review score:

Nonlinear PDE's
There seem to be few textbooks on this particular subject accessible to students; most deal with linear PDE's, so the book fills a gap. 'Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations' assumes the reader is already familiar with differential equations,so is not suitable as an introduction to the subject. It is written at an advanced level, but concepts are very clearly spelled out. Logan takes the reader through all the necessary mathematical steps in explaining a new concept. He does not skip steps in his analysis. Chapter One introduces canonical equations and transformations, but Logan's treatment is very sparse and there are better texts available for these subjects. Logan's book concentrates mostly on how PDE's can be reduced to ordinary differential equations via similarity methods etc. Most standard types of nonlinear systems are dealt with, including reaction diffusion processes, chemically reacting fluids and shock wave development. I like this book and that's why I bought it from Amazon, but be careful, there are one or two typing errors in the maths.

Janette Oke: A Heart for the Prairie
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (August, 2001)
Author: Laurel Oke Logan
Average review score:

An Inspiration
I was thoroughly inspired by reading this book. It seemed to me to be a little slow developing at the beginning, due to a fairly complex family history. Even this should be interesting to people who like history from the perspective of people who lived it. It is well organized, and provides a good description of the environment that nurtured this God-inspired writer. Janette Oke's life experiences are so easy to identify with, and her dependence on God so well portrayed that it is an inspiration to me. It is also fascinating to learn how one of my favorite writers arrived at her mission in life.

Lady Lollipop
Published in Audio Cassette by Chivers Press Ltd (May, 2002)
Authors: Dick King-Smith and Phyllis Logan
Average review score:

A new kind of house pet!
Reminiscent of Lester, the pig in the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle series, Lollipop is a homely pig chosen as a present by the spoiled Princess Penelope for her 8th birthday. Her owner, Johnny, has trained this pig to obey commands much as a dog would, and comes to live at the palace with the pig. The King secretly engages the boy to train his daughter as well, as she is getting out of hand. This predictable story teaches a couple of lessons to the readers--the problem of selfishness and not judging by appearances--without beating the reader with those messages. The illustrations complement the text, which is roughly a 3rd grade level.

Lizzie Logan, Second Banana
My sister is not a reader, meaning she does not like to read, yet the book held her attention. She finished it in a weekend. This book is cute, interesting, and appropriate for prepubescent females.

Average review score:

Great reading, concept based, excellent for medical students
This is the most absorbing of ENT texts, ideal for students as it focuses on concepts and does cover all the important facts. The layout is very organized and information has been presented in an orderly and logical manner. It is by all means a worthwhile investment.

Mary Anne Misses Logan
Published in Turtleback by Demco Media (August, 1991)
Author: Ann Matthews Martin
Average review score:

Is Mary Anne ready to have Logan back in her life?
So...Mary Anne's upset because her ex-boyfriend is assigned to her group for a school project. Poor Mary Anne. Naturally Cokie Mason's in that group and flirts her head off with Logan. What I liked is that Mary Anne didn't stoop down to Cokie and Logan's level, but just did her part in the project. I liked that the book didn't pit Mary Anne and Cokie against each other is rivals for Logan. Mary Anne had the dignity not to be drawn into trying to "win" Logan back.
